Sonic Virtual TCG based on TAing? :o
« on: September 05, 2005, 08:05:49 pm »
So I've had these plans to create a virtual TCG for a while. Anyways, I got a random idea to make one based on TAing. Random, yes. Might I be able to get it to work? Possibly. :o

The game's tentative name will be "Sonic Time Attack," and will be based on time attacking a zone (trying to get through the zone as fast as possible). You will build a zone for an opponent's character to run through, and the opponent will do the same for you. He could add enemies or obstacles to your zone (and vice versa), but you can add rings or power-ups to the zone he's making for you. I'm not sure how things will go from there. That's what I'm looking for help on.

I currently have these card types: Zone Area, Zone Prop, Enemy, Obstacle, Ring, Power-Up.

This will most likely be done via message board, most likely InvisionFree since I'm a cheapskate who's trying to pay for college with a not-that-well-paying part-time job.

If you're interested in helping, PM me with your TCG experience and some good reasons why you'd be willing to help. Any other general questions can be asked here. I'll try to answer them as best I can.

Nice idea. I don't really understand it, but I'd love to see it pulled off. :o

Speaking of TCGs, I always wanted to make a deck using our created cards. XD

Go ahead and do that Mike. Though I don't know if we've created enough cards to make a LEGAL deck...

I've created an IRC channel for the game's development and, later on, gameplay. Anyone interested in helping can go to #timeattacktcg.

I will need beta testers, once everything's all set up. The only problem is that I haven't quite started making the actual cards yet. I probably won't get started on them for about a month, once I become fully adjusted to school being in session again and am less stressed out.
